Amid global modernization and increasing systemic pressures, healthcare systems around the world are facing unprecedented challenges. To address these, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a breakthrough solution, unlocking new value chains and driving transformation in the healthcare sector. No longer just a trend, AI is now reshaping various activities such as medical imaging diagnostics, personalized skincare, hospital management, and remote patient monitoring.

One of the most prominent applications of AI is in diagnostic imaging — including MRI, CT, and X-ray scans. Advanced algorithms enable machines to automatically detect lesions, tumors, and vascular abnormalities in real-time. This not only reduces the workload of physicians but also enhances accuracy and shortens diagnostic time.
According to Ms. Bui Thi Hai Yen, Legal Director of XGY Medical Equipment Company, AI is becoming a competitive frontier in healthcare, where the ultimate beneficiaries are the patients. She noted that with rising health demands, most medical equipment providers have been actively integrating AI into their imaging systems to improve disease detection and treatment.
Similarly, Mr. Vu Van Duong, Deputy Technical Director of Viet Med, emphasized that AI has optimized the diagnostic and treatment workflow, contributing to a smarter, more modern, and more precise healthcare system.

AI isn’t confined to hospitals. It's also redefining personal health care, particularly in skincare. Devices from South Korea and China now offer in-depth skin analysis, detecting pigmentation, wrinkles, moisture levels, etc., and providing tailored treatment suggestions.
Ms. Sophie Wang, Head of Business at Sanhe Sano, shared that many countries have already adopted smart solutions to monitor skin health. AI helps in early detection of abnormalities, including risks of skin cancer or infections. As a result, users can care for their skin more effectively, scientifically, and accessibly.
? International Collaboration Drives Smart Healthcare
Vietnam is increasingly seen by global experts as a developing country with great potential in smart healthcare. Professor Yuichi Nagakawa, Head of Pediatric and Gastrointestinal Surgery and Deputy Director of Tokyo Medical University Hospital, remarked:
“We are eager to share advanced surgical techniques, especially robotic surgery and the latest advancements in cancer treatment, with Vietnamese professionals. Vietnam has made impressive progress and is fully capable of meeting international healthcare standards.”
According to Professor Nagakawa, international cooperation goes beyond just technology transfer. It also includes human resource training, experience sharing, and collaborative research, aiming to build a more modern, efficient, and humane global healthcare ecosystem.
Mr. Do Quang Ba, Chairman of the Vietnam-Japan International Exchange Organization, added that collaborative treatment between doctors from both countries enhances skills, facilitates knowledge exchange, and supports advanced medical technology transfer, especially as Vietnam accelerates its digital transformation in healthcare.
Domestically, many Vietnamese enterprises are taking proactive steps, not only importing technology but also developing localized smart healthcare solutions tailored to local conditions. This proves Vietnam’s readiness to integrate into the global healthcare value chain, while promoting patient-centered, cost-effective, and modern treatment models.
